A concussion is a minor traumatic brain injury that may occur when the head hits an object, or a moving object strikes the head. It can affect how the brain works for a while. A concussion can lead to a bad headache, changes in alertness, or loss of consciousness.  

Despite the increase in awareness, concussions are still difficult to diagnose and determine full recovery. The most common error by coaches, parents and athletes is to return to practice and competition too soon. The Club is very much aware of the concerns surrounding concussions and highly recommends that the parent(s) of all Hillcrest Lakers children take the time to view the concussion awareness video at :
