Fall Program

Send Questions to: hillcrestlakersoccer@gmail.com

General Information:

  • All players must be Hillcrest members. To become a Hillcrest member there is a $100 membership fee for the calendar year.  Membership entitles a family to register their children for any sport offered during the calendar year (subject to timely registration and tryouts for travel teams). Each sport has a separate fee due.

  • Online registration will take place July  to August.  Please register promptly. Players who register by the September 1 deadline will be guaranteed a position on a team. After September 1, those registering will be placed on wait lists and added to teams ONLY if space is available and at the discretion of the Soccer Committee.

  • PLEASE NOTE: Each fall season is difficult to get started due to late registrations (i.e. after Labor Day).  Please register early to allow for the season to start on a timely basis.

  • Fees for the Fall Season are $90 per player for instructional. $250 for recreational and $340 for travel soccer. ONLY Credit Cards are accepted for payment.

Instructional (Co-ed):

  • Eligibility:4, 5 and 6 year old boys and girls as of 12/31 of current year (generally Pre-K-4, kindergarten,1st grade)

  • Teams: 10-12 players per team.  Teams are coed at this age level.

  • Schedule:Sessions generally Saturdays before 12:00.

  • Format:The sessions will be 60 minutes. The first 30 minutes of each session the contracted trainer/coaches will lead the teams in skills development and basics of soccer. The last 30 minutes of each session will generally be for games whereby each team will "play" the other team sharing the field for the session.

  • Location:  Tentatively Saturdays Tibbetts.

  • This division is "in-house" play; teams will only play other Hillcrest teams.

  • Non-Competitive Division. The "games" are simply for fun, there are no scores tracked and no records recorded.

  • All players will receive a Hillcrest team t-shirt and a participation trophy.

  • It is recommended that each player purchase their own soccer ball to bring to the session.  A size 3 ball is what is used and can generally be purchased for approximately $10 at any sporting goods store.

  • Shin guards should be worn.  Cleats are optional, otherwise sneakers are acceptable.

NOTE: for all divisions listed below: When registering you may request to play with a certain coach or other players.  Attempts will be made to meet requests  HOWEVER there is no guarantee that requests can be honored.

Recreational Soccer:

  • Eligibility: u8 (7 year olds) up to u18. However, at this time, we currently only have players up to 2009 birth years.

Travel Soccer:

  • Teams: Teams will be based on age.

  • Schedule: Practices are twice a week. NYCFC runs all of the practices. Games are held on Sundays and all teams play in the Westchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL).
  • Practices historically begin the week after Labor Day (subject to prompt registrations) and are generally held twice a week on a weekday. NYCFC runs all of the recreational practices.
  • Games historically begin mid-late September and end mid-November (generally 10 weekends).

  • Commitment Level - The travel club recognizes that players have many commitments for other sports, to school activities and family, however, be aware that in general, the commitment level to play travel soccer (or for that matter any travel sport) is higher than the traditional recreational level sports.  Each season players must tryout and be accepted to play on a team (please understand this, attending tryouts does not automatically place you on a team).

PLEASE REGISTER EARLY AS REGISTRATIONS RECEIVED AFTER LABOR DAY CAUSE DELAYS TO THE START OF THE SEASON
