Spring Recreational Softball Program
The Hillcrest Softball program offers girls ages 5 to 18 the opportunity to compete in spring, summer and fall leagues as well as postseason tournaments and all star games.
The information set forth below relates to the Spring Recreational Softball Season. All players that register for the recreational program, provided they register on time (see below) and pay their registration fee in full, will be placed on a team. For all Recreational Divisions (except for the T-Ball Division) there are "tryouts" conducted for the purpose of selecting balanced teams (i.e. your child will not be "cut" from a recreational team, if you register on-time, your child will be placed on a team).
For information related to the Hillcrest Lakers Travel Softball Program, please see the TRAVEL DIVISION tab under Softball.
Registration:
-Begins January 1 and will run through mid-March (or to the date on which teams are selected which is historically mid-late March).
-Once teams are selected, if you register late, you may not be placed on a team (register early).
-Registration fee will be $90 per player for the spring season (includes jersey and hat).
-There is also an annual fee to become a member of the Club, which is $90. You must be a member of the Club in order to register for the softball program. Your family can register as members of the Club from the "Register On-Line Tab" on the left menu.

Volunteers: All teams are coached by parent volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering to coach or assist with a team, please make sure that upon registering your child you also register to coach. If there are more volunteers to coach then needed, coaches are assigned based on "seniority" (i.e. those with the most seasons coaching a Hillcrest Softball Team will awarded a team to coach). All coaches are subject to a background check.
Try-Outs:
-Tryouts dates will be sent by e-mail to e-mail address used to register and will also be posted on this web site.
-If a player misses tryouts they may still be placed on a team, however, in order for teams to be balanced it is important that as many players as possible attend tryouts. Please make an effort to attend the tryouts on the indicated dates to improve the process of selecting balanced teams which makes for a fun competitive season for all participants.
Team Sponsors:
- Over the years we have had great support from the local community and the Club is in need of local merchants and parents to sponsor teams. Please see the Sponsor tab for more information but in breif sponsorship results in a) company name on hats, b) plaque with team picture, c) corporate banner displayed at opening day, d) 1st place trophy if team wins a competitive division.
- There is no guarantee your child will be on the team you sponsor.
