MAJORS DIVISION - BOYS

Ages:
This Division is for players that are generally 10 to 13 years old (generally 6th, 7th and 8th Grade).

Cut-Off Date:
The date used to determine a players age is Calendar year of Birth.

Born 2006 = 13 Years Old

Born 2007 = 12 Years Old

Born 2008 = 11 Years Old

Born 2009 = 10 Years Old

Players Born in 2010 will NOT be permitted to participate in this division, no exceptions.

Players Born 2005 will NOT be permitted to particiapte in this division, no excpetions.

Description:

  • There are 6 teams selected with 12 players per team (60 players in total in this division).
  • Games are only played against other Hillcrest teams.
  • Each child participates in the batting order and fielding positions (9 fielders).
  • Players pitch.
  • This is a competitive division.  There are standings recorded and end of season playoffs.
  • Trophies are awarded to only the first place team.
  • Tryouts for 10-11 year old players are used to determine if such player will be placed in the Majors or Minors.
  • Tryouts are also used for purposes of determining evenly matched teams (no guarantee this will be the ultimate result).
  • There is no guarantee you will have the same coach each year.
  • If you are eligible for this division you MUST register timely AND pay your registration in full to be placed on a team.
  • Once the 60 players are selected for this division there will be no more additions.
  • All 12 and 13 year olds will be placed on a team and the remaining spots (60 minus the total number of 12 and 13 year olds) will be for 11 and 10 year olds.  The majority of these remaining spots typically go to 11 year olds HOWEVER there may be instances where a 10 years old is selected for the Majors and an 11 year old is selected for the Minors based on tryout results. As a result, 10 and 11 year old players should make every effort to attend tryouts if they intend to play in the Majors Division as they are NOT guaranteed a roster spot on a majors team.
  • Schedules cannot be set until coaches are selected, teams are formed and field permits secured but generally there is 1 weekday game (generally Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) and 1 weekend game (generally Sunday) for this age group.
